Can I use a multitester as a continuity tester? Help!?

I use a multitester I have to test AC voltage, DC voltage, ohms, and wondered if I can use it to test the continuous flow of current through a circuit or through the same strand of wire on a power cord, to make sure there is no break in the wire somewhere. Thanks for helping.
